Life is tough for young, budding alchemist Marie, toiling away in her workshop in Salburg. Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg Ver. 1.3 is a Gust-developed December 1997 enhanced port of the PlayStation original title.
A role-playing game, players take control of Marie as she studies books, forages for items, does battle, and synthesizes items. A mix of simple overworld maps and still images, the Saturn version uses the internal clock for time-sensitive dialogue and messages, and includes a seventh possible ending compared to the PS’s six.
The game is pretty cool — it spawned an entire franchise!
