Planet Joker #BestOfSaturn

In early 1997, Imp produced and NaxatSoft released a polygonal vertical-scrolling shmup Planet Joker. Players take control of a flying mech and proceed to blast, bomb, and otherwise destroy their way through seven levels of enemy hordes.

An unknown army has occupied Tokyo, and it’s up to you to suppress them! Uneven gameplay, inelegant visuals, and rough controls firmly places this on the lowest tier of Saturn shmups… although the presentation is quite nice.

It ain’t Radiant Silvergun or Batsugun, but hardcore shmup fans just may find something to enjoy here.
