A summer 1997 SNK port of the (arguably superior) NEO GEO CD title, Shinsetsu Samurai Spirits Bushidou Retsuden is an old-skool JRPG universe set in the Samurai Shodown universe.
Play as one of eight characters — each with two chapters to complete — and learn more of their lore as you roam an overworld, interact with characters, explore dungeons and, of course, battle. The game lures you in with excellent pixel art, and fans of Samurai Shodown will feel right at home.
Not the greatest RPG out there, but perhaps the greatest RPG created by a fighting game studio. An English fan translation exists for the NEO GEO original, but not yet for the Saturn…
Instead of dating sims and visual novels, an English translation of this RPG would be superb!
