A 1995 science fiction-themed shmup, Taito’s Gekirindan, or “Time Travel Shooting,” is an overhead vertical scroller in the vein of the DonPachi games.
The Saturn conversion of the arcade original features both standard and tate modes, and features relatively colorful visuals and tight gameplay, marred only by the occasional loading pauses.
Choose a fighter and it’s your guns against the world as the evil “Huge Boss” moves around in time to pit you against enemies from past, present, and future. A solid shmup.
