Initially released in late 1995 on the Super Famicom, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is the seventh entry into the Ogre Battle series and was ported to the Saturn by Riverhillsoft in December 1996. This is a strategy RPG game, featuring a node-based overworld and diagonal, grid-based battles where character class can make all the difference.

You take the role of Denim Powell, caught up in a war of succession in Valeria, intent on proving himself within the Resistance. Interestingly, the player must assign a birthdate to Denim and then answer a series of questions to determine the character’s initial stats.

Up to ten units from a maximum of 30 can take part in battle, and the player must beware not to let Denim die, or it’s an immediate game over. The game covers some surprisingly mature themes in its storyline and was well-regarded upon release.

In early 2023, Paul Met and the Meduza Team patched the game. Aside from an English translation, the game’s resolution was increased slightly, the 4MB cartridge can be (optionally) utilized to decrease load times, and a host of other quality of life improvements were implemented.
Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together remains one of the generation’s best tactical RPGs.

I never got into this series, even though I love the Shining Force, also Shining in the Darkness and Holy Ark, and Brigandine on the PS1, but I plan on getting into this one in the future, probably the PSP version that is more comprehensive.
I know the PS1 version os this game has weird stutters.
