SEASON 2: EP 4 – “Everything Sounds Better… on PAPER”

Join Patrick, Dave, Claire & Peter as they dig up and tear into perhaps the most self-congratulatory and unintentionally self-depricating document in all of video game history. The Hype-Train was steamed up and leaving the station, but SEGA’s own confident optimism blinded them to several problems that lay ahead, problems that would derail Saturn and ultimately SEGA.

  1. I liked the Episodes, witch are based of first hand Experiences of the Podcasters, like the “Nights” Episode. Compared to those episodes this one is a big disappointment. It is debatable if the commentary on the paper and the plans from Sega comes across as arrogant or funny. The real problem here is the misunderstanding and misinformation about how the machine was engineered and work. There was the potential, to give a counterpart with this podcast, to a lot of false assumtions and lost in translation stuff in the internet about that tech-toppics. But this opportunity was missed for the most part. To much smattering. Please research better in the futur, for people like me, who wants to be educated by the work of podcasters like you.

    • Thanks for the honest feedback! Glad you liked the NiGHTS episode and more personal experience-based cast format, since that’s pretty much what we do currently. The White Paper episode was definitely fun speculation, however, that was years ago now, and we’ve come a bit of a ways since those early days. Anyway, we hope you stick around and enjoy some of the newer episodes. Cheers!
