Unreleased Dreamcast Game Dee Dee Planet, Released after over 20 years!

SHIRO! SHOW Recap

The guys over at the Dreamcast Junkyard made us aware of a newly found unreleased Dreamcast game called Dee Dee Planet, a planned online game that was meant to be the follow up to the critically acclaimed ChuChu Rocket.

The game itself was to be released in 2001, but due to Networking issues, and potentially the end of the Dreamcast’s life, SEGA decided to pull the plug on Dee Dee Planet before it was released.

For years, the only ones who’ve played this game, were the developers at SEGA, and the lucky few who tried out the game at the Tokyo Game Show in 2000, but as of now and thanks to the efforts of pcwzrd13, you can finally enjoy the game after all these years!

The game is in the style of Death Tank / Worms, where you traverse a 2D terrain fighting 1-3 other Human or CPU controlled players trying to blow you up.

One of the next major steps, would be to bring this game online after all these years, as this was meant to be an online game. While it would be difficult to pull off, it would be the final restoration step for this game.

If you’d like to try out the game yourself, you can download the Dreamcast game here.

You can check out gameplay of Dee Dee Planet here:

Make sure to also follow pcwzrd13, who without his hard work, would have left this game remaining a lost gem:
