GEX -vs- RAYMAN

I agree with the assessment that Rayman is objectively a better game, but not because Gex has any glaring faults. At the end of the day, Rayman just looks and sounds a bit better. Both games have pretty unique gameplay gimmicks that set them apart from standard fair, and they are frustratingly difficult as they progress. The camera is also a bit better in Rayman.
As far as 2D platforming goes though, these games were truly core samples of the mid 90s/32-bit era. Sega’s own Astal might also look and sound nice, but doesn’t offer nearly as much gameplay depth as either title here.
