Guardian Heroes #BestOfSaturn

Guardian Heroes. Developed by Treasure and published by SEGA in all territories, in 1996.
SHIRO! SHOW Recap

A side-scrolling beat-em-up cult classic, Treasure’s Guardian Heroes lit the Saturn up in 1996. Featuring RPG-like stat gains at the end of each level, branching paths, multiple endings, 1 or 2 player Story Mode action and up to 6 player Versus Mode, this one finds itself on many Saturn fans’ list of greatest games. Definitely the best of Saturn!

The hand-drawn art style has aged like fine wine.
At the end of each level, convert your experience into stat boosts of your choosing! The RPG overtones are awesome.
The game never stops looking gorgeous.

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
