Zoop #BestOfSaturn

Zoop. Developed by Hookstone and published exclusively in Japan by Media Quest, in 1996.

Released on nearly every platform known to man, Zoop makes its way onto Saturn. A simple yet challenging puzzler, this sees the player’s cursor protect the inner square against advancing shapes. The trick? You can only shoot same-color shapes, and you take on the color of the last shape you shot. Frantic!

You are the purple cursor and can only destroy purple shapes. Shoot the green shape to take on the green color and wipe out green shapes.
The background changes appearance, but this is as inconsequential to the game as the changing backgrounds are in, say, Tetris.
Naturally, the further the player gets, the faster the shapes move towards the center. If they get you… it’s game over!

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
