Dr. Emerald Nova’s SEGA Saturn 27th Anniversary Game Competition Announced!

On September 1st, the famous Dr. Emerald Nova announced the SEGA Saturn 27th Saturn Game Development competition on his stream!

For those of you who don’t know, Dr. Emerald Nova is a Saturn developer who has developed such games as Seniriu, and his now in development Plane game. Every year, he’s been running a game development competition to help promote indie development on the Saturn. Offering cash and 3D printed prizes for the winners. Everyone is welcome to enter their Saturn development project, no matter the sizes or scale!

We covered (And even participated in) the 26th Game Development competition, streaming all the games and fan translation patches entered into the competition:

This year, we are again participating as judges in the game competition. Giving our thoughts and scores on the newly entered Fan Translations and Homebrew games/software.

The judges remain relatively the same, but Dr. Emerald Nova has announced a major entry, Jason Steele (AKA FilmCow): Saturn game streamer, and animator behind such classics as Charlie the Unicorn and Llamas With Hats!

Other Judges include: Cerv3ro, David Gámiz Jiménez, Johannes Fetz,, Sega Lord X. and of course your SHIRO! team members PandaMonium, SaturnDave, and TraynoCo!

You may enter whatever Saturn related you’d like until January 1st, 2022. For more details, check out Dr. Emerald Nova’s site here!
