Keio Flying Squadron 2 #BestOfSaturn

Keio Flying Squadron 2. Developed by Victor, and published in Japan in 1996, and in Europe in 1997.

A sequel to one of the pricier SEGA CD games, Keio Flying Squadron 2e is a 2D platformer with shmup sections. Players take control of Remi and guide her through a colorful adventure with a heavy Eastern feel. The game was released in Japan and in Europe, but not in North America.

The anime art style is really nice.
The SEGA CD game was a straight shmup whilst the Saturn game is a platformer / shmup hybrid.
This is our 2-year anniversary of the #BestOfSaturn posts. Can you believe it?? You can check out all the ones you’ve missed by clicking on #BestOfSaturn.

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
