The seventh episode of the Ogre Battle saga, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is a Final Fantasy Tactics-esque SRPG set in enchanted Valeria. Fight your way through scenarios to advance the story. The game was initially made for the SNES and was later ported to both Saturn and PlayStation. Although the Saturn port is the strongest of the two, only the PS version made it out in English. Boo!
A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming ‘firsts’ were commonplace. There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
I believe I tried both versions and remember the PS1 has a tiny freeze (possibly loading) each time you set your character some place and need to select an action, the Saturn runs more fluidly. No excuses, I don’t think the PS1 couldn’t handle this game as good as the Saturn, see FFTactics.
