Online SEGA Saturn Tournaments!

Thanks to the SHIRO! DISCORD community’s own DoubleDime, our resident NetLink “busy-bee” (seriously.., dude’s almost always available for a match-up if you want to have a go…), we now have online tournaments that you can participate in (provided you have the necessary setup).

The first game to kick things off looks to be Virtua Fighter Remix, and if that sounds exciting to you, be sure to join up and submit your name for the official bracket!

It looks like online match-ups will be asynchronous, taking place over a one-week period, with results being reported in and added to the tournament bracket. This way, folks can participate at different times, regardless of busy schedules.

DoubleDime has requested that participants record match-up footage if at all possible, both for spectators to enjoy and for verification purposes.

Here are a couple recent examples of NetLink match-ups between DoubleDime and Dan (aka RetroSpectors)…

Daytona CCE NetLink
Duke Nukem NetLink

Thanks Dave! If anyone is interested in joining, go ahead and head over to the “online tournaments” chat on the Sega Saturn Shiro discord. Here’s a video of my first round (fyi I’m in Ohio and Mrmxy is playing from Chile so it’d a bit slower than usual):
