Possible English Translation for Terra Phantastica on the Horizon..?

Without even stopping to take a breath, following on the heals of his English translation patch for Tokyo Highway Battle ’97, Malenko has been busy digging into Terra Phantastica, in hopes of possibly translating this incredibly voluminous JRPG…

It seems (at present) this may simply be an exercise in determining viability of such an undertaking, and Malenko has even been warned against taking on such a project alone…

However, despite the game’s shear size and complexity, Malenko has apparently made some small bits of progress, shining a light of hope (however faint) on the possibility of seeing this game in English within our lifetime…

Still, these examples are proverbial ‘pebbles’ in the pond (strike that… ocean) of a game so massive, it’s daunting even to think about taking on such a monumental task…

However, undeterred, Malenko seems to be pushing forward with brute force…

He is also interested in connecting with someone “smarter than him” who might be able to write a tool in order to help simplify (or maybe even automate) the process a bit.

Regardless, we’ll keep you posted with any updates, and if you are seeing this and you happen to be a skilled programmer interested in helping, be sure to reach out to Malenko.
