The SEGA Saturn, SHIRO! Podcast Re-Launches!!

We’re BACK!!

We here at SHIRO! bring you the many worlds of SEGA Saturn in a bunch of different ways. Whether you tune in every Friday for The SHIRO! Show, leaf through the pages of the SHIRO! Magazine, interact with us on Discord, Facebook, or Twitter, or simply drop by here to check out the latest news, articles, and posts about the world of SEGA Saturn, there is bound to be a favorite way we bring awesome Saturn content to you. But, it wasn’t always this way.

In the beginning, we were a podcast.

Since late 2017, SHIRO! Media Group has been proudly bringing you The SEGA Saturn, SHIRO! Podcast – the only podcast dedicated to SEGA’s 32-bit powerhouse console. This is where it all began, for us. As the team grew and matured, our content diversified into the awesome offerings available today… and consequently, our podcast fell by the wayside.

However, inspired by fan feedback and the many warm memories of producing the podcast, we knew that there was no chance that the podcast should simply vanish. That’s why we are excited to announce the re-launch of The SEGA Saturn, SHIRO! Podcast. Now hosted by Peter and featuring a rotation of SaturnDave, TraynoCo Pat, Pandamonium Nick, and Ben, we aim to once again bring you the very best in SEGA Saturn podcast listening. Join us on a bimonthly basis as we get together to discuss from the broadest to the most niche and nerdy aspects of the Saturn.

Our announcement reel is available on Podbean and YouTube now, as Episode 0.

Episode 1: The Big Three launches on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023… and in the spirit of E3 1995 and SEGA’s surprise Saturn launch in North America, Patrons receive immediate access today – no “$299” nonsense here! Join Peter, Pandamonium Nick, and Ben as we cover the Big Three of Christmas 1995 that redefined the Saturn experience in the West: Virtua Cop, SEGA Rally Championship, and Virtua Fighter 2.

Episode 2: 2D Platformers on the Saturn goes live Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, on Podbean, Spotify, and on Amazon Music. Peter, SaturnDave, TraynoCo Pat, and Ben clown around with Astal, the Clockwork Knight games, the first Gex game, and the original Rayman.

We have some truly awesome podcasts lined up. Turn on your parallel processing, activate your RAM cartridge, and strap in – we’re heading back… to Saturn!

About the author

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
