Iron Storm #BestOfSaturn

Iron Storm is a World War II battle simulation game that supports the Saturn mouse. Players command armies and participate in various clashes from WW2.

The play field is a hexagonal grid; players position their battalions and engage the enemy. The battle sequences are then displayed in realtime 3D, although all the gameplay happens in the pre-planning stage.

This was the first game that Working Designs localized for North America back in summer 1996. No PAL release, though.

Peter Malek

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!

  1. Absolutely love Iron Storm on the Sega Saturn. My true hope is that we get a full English translation of world advanced daisenryaku: sakusen file someday soon. Do you or anyone know anything about this?
