Destruction Derby #BestOfSaturn

SEGA briefly basked in the positive news that Psygnosis games — some of the flashiest early PlayStation exclusives from the Sony-owned studio — were all coming over to Saturn. Then the actual games landed…

Destruction Derby is a relatively shallow adrenaline pumping racing/survival car game that sees you smashing your way to victory either on the racetrack or in the bowl. Textures were a bit rough and framerate a tad low compared to the PS1 original, which could be due to the lack of code optimization during the console transplant.

Released in late 1996 in Japan and in Europe, a North American release was scrapped despite being advertised. Best enjoyed for historical reasons.
