NBA Jam: Tournament Edition “pumped up the Jam” from the title’s first iteration, retaining its progenitor’s 2-on-2 over-the-top, exaggerated arcade-style basketball fun while adding player substitutions, in-game commentary by the legendary Tim Kitzrow (Boom-shakalaka!) and, of course, a tournament mode.
The Saturn port of the arcade thriller is excellent, with large, fast-moving sprites, lots of color, and solid gameplay. This is the better of the two NBA Jam titles on Saturn.
