Time Gal and Ninja Hayate is a double-pack of two mid-’80s Taito Laserdisc quick-time event arcade FMV games.
Time Gal tells the story of Reika as she tries to stop a thief from stealing the time machine whilst Ninja Hayate is concerned with, ahem, rescuing a princess. The video is full-screen and relatively clean, and the “action” is fast and furious.
The language barrier would prevent the full enjoyment of the story, but for those who want to immerse themselves in 1980s Japanese culture, this is your ticket.
A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming ‘firsts’ were commonplace. There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
