If you’ve gone to our site in the last few days, you may have noticed a new tab in our menu bar:

After much demand for a more permanent place for information retention, and for more accessibility to the greater online space, we have now opened the SHIRO! Forums!
Over the years, we have cultivated a community on many different sites such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Bluesky, and especially on Discord. One of the things that in common with these places is that nothing on there is ever guaranteed to stay permanent with our expressed request. Sites and apps can shut down, remove content, or remove people completely from those platforms almost without warning. This is especially been exacerbated by use of AI moderation tools to replace human oversight.
We’ve seen multiple times in the past platforms just up and vanish, and with it all the content stored on them. It’s the reason we try to keep all Saturn pertinent information such as fan translations, online guides, documentation, and archives on our site. Because even if anything happens to our website, all the information in some form will be backed up to internet archive sites and be accessible in the foreseeable future.

Information such as tech support questions solved and answered on our Discord might be lost to time if not backed up — which, as of writing this article, there doesn’t seem to be a way to back up an entire Discord discussion.
So after many discussions amongst ourselves, we have decided the best way to preserve this information and records is to just host the discussions ourselves.
We want to emphasize that we are not using the forums as our only community outlet — all of our social media and Discord will remain as is and continue to function on the same level. The forums will be used as an addition to those who do not use other forms of social media but would like to interact with the Saturn community. They’re also for safeguarding relevant Saturn information and discussion that might be lost with a platform shutdown.
The forums themselves are currently a work in progress. We are a bit new to setting up and running one, so bear with us as we continue to improve and run it.

So come join us for some discussions! You can register at this link. Please check your email’s spam folder in case the confirmation email ends up there.
We’ll see you on the forums!

This is insane, I was just about to come to this site to see if I could make a guide for something Saturn related that I haven’t seen definitive instructions for anywhere online, and BAM new forums. I miss forums man, I am gonna make HEAVY use of them bitches.
Very silly question but how do we sign up to the forum? There’s no registration option to create an account from what I can see.
At the top of the page on the Shiro website, hover over Forum, the drop down should have an option to register. I think on mobile, if you click on the hamburger menu, then the arrow on forum, the Register link is there. https://www.segasaturnshiro.com/register/ is the direct link (not sure if this is allowed in comments).
Thanks for explaining that, DaveTV. I just added a link to the registration page to the end of Pat’s article, too. Sorry about the confusion, Mark.
No worries.
I’ll go and sigh up under my net name of Yakumo.
Excellent!!
Thanks DaveTV.
I’ll give that a try.
