Legend of the Fighting Dragon Elan Doreé #BestOfSaturn

Touryuu Densetsu Elan Doreé (闘龍伝説エランドール), Legend of the Fighting Dragon Elan Doreé. Developed for the arcade in 1998 by Sai-Mate; later ported to the Saturn and published by Sai-Mate exclusively in Japan, in 1999.

Legend of the Fighting Dragon Elan Doreé is an obscure yet interesting one-on-one versus fighting game released in 1999. Players ride dragons to fight but it is possible to knock your opponent off their mount, making them extra vulnerable (think Fighting Vipers with armor knocked off). The game runs in the Saturn’s high resolution mode for crispy graphics.

The game was originally an arcade title, running on the ST-V Titan board. The presentation screens are very attractive.
Levie and Sion square off in the skies, with a floating island in the background. Both physical and magical attacks are at your disposal!
The texture work in-game is really phenomenal. Some of the Saturn’s best, in fact!
