Developed by Cave and hitting the Japanese Saturn courtesy of Atlus in early 1996, DonPachi is a bullet-hell shooter and the first game in the DonPachi series. Select one of three recruits and take down waves of enemy fighters to hopefully impress enough to gain a spot on the prestigious DonPachi Squadron.
Holding down the fire button produces a continuous straight shot whilst tapping activates a dispersal shot. Combos can be racked up by defeating enemies in quick succession.
Colorful, fast, featuring a cool soundtrack and even sporting Tate mode, this one’s good!
