A Saturn port of the “abstract” bullet-hell shooter Noiz2sa has been submitted by the.chojin to the SegaXtreme Saturn 31st Anniversary Homebrew Showcase. You can see SHIRO!’s summary of the submissions to this year’s showcase here!

You can download version 0.51a of the Sega Saturn Noiz2sa port on SegaXtreme.
A “last-minute entry” into this year’s homebrew showcase — submitted on the May 11 deadline — this Saturn port by the.chojin (also known by their GitHub handle, willll) was built from the GamePark32 version of Noiz2sa, specifically with the “v5.1 source code.” The project’s GitHub contains a plethora of additional details for those who want a technical deep dive into the creation of this port.
This port is not yet complete. The following issues were noted by the.chojin in the port’s SegaXtreme submission post:
- Missing BUP integration for saving hi-scores
- Crashes can occur “because of memory allocation”
- Title does not use the original sprites
- “Foes stop shooting because of the bad memory management”
A thank you section was also included in the Noiz2sa SegaXtreme submission post, and this list might be best described as the usual suspects in the Saturn homebrew community. The.chojin credits the following for making this port possible:
- The Saturn Rings Library (SRL) team — to which the.chojin belongs —for the SRL framework
- Hassmaschine for the Ponesound driver for SRL
- Ponut64 for the 68K Ponesound driver
- Cafe-alpha for developing the USB Gamer’s cartridge
- vbt for “reminding [them] that 5 FPS is not acceptable for a game, and for GCC toolchain”
