Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute Input Lag Issues Found (11 Frames of Lag!)

Just a couple weeks ago, the company City Connection released the Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute collection on Switch and PS4, which include the Saturn classics Cotton 2, Cotton Boomerang, and Guardian Force. A topic we covered the announcement of earlier this year.

As people began getting copies in their hand, something seemed… Off, about the feel of the game, and the gameplay itself.

After some testing, users discovered the issue. All of these titles on Switch include about 11 frames of lag (With a frame or two less on PS4). Details on how this was discovered were documented in this video by YouTuber The Electric Underground:

While for casual play, many people would not really mind or care, but for more hardcore fans, and people hoping to use this as an alternative to buying the upwards of $200+ for each individual game on the Saturn, it’s a pretty massive bummer.

City Connection, sent out a response to these findings, announcing it will be working on an update to lower the input lag within each game:

Whether this will be addressed in a timely manner is unknow. All we can hope is the issue is corrected before the release of Strictly Limited Games’ version of Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute.

Does the lag affect those of you who picked this up? Let us know in the comments!
